To begin with, I’m not sure words can describe how grateful I am to the foundation. I am, quite literally, given my entire lifestyle from this single scholarship and it leaves me baffled every time I think about it.

I won’t say that I didn’t do my rightful part to get the scholarship, because I did. I worked hard to get good grades in high school, participated in organizations, and volunteered to constantly develop my leadership capabilities. I had my fair share of burdens to justify the reward.

But at the same time, the scholarship is simply the conscious choice from a group of people to believe in me and who I’ll become, and that’s a level of compassion that I’m not particularly used to, so I feel indebted.

I plan on using this opportunity to the best of my ability. Knowing that people are rooting for me and my education with little to no reward is incredible, to say the least. So, I’m making the most of my time at university. I want to show them that their kindness was not used in vain.
